Pectin is a plant-derived natural component found in plant cell walls. It is made from the residues left over after juice extraction – apple or citrus pomace. Since the primary activity of T.B. Fruit is apple processing, we always have fresh, high-quality raw materials and produce apple pectin in-house.
The essential property of pectin is its ability to gel under appropriate conditions. Nowadays, it is used as a gelling agent and thickener in a broad range of food products. Such products include, for instance, gelling sugars, jams, jellies, dairy drinks, bakery products, glazes, confectionery and beverages.
